If seatbelts are mandatory and enforced with fines, then vaccinations should be as well. Children not vaccinated, should not be allowed in school, or other public institutions/venues.

A Must Read Update on WBTS and Darkspilver from reddit
by ZindagiNaMilegiDobaara inmany of us know that watch tower (yes, two words in this case) has issued a subpoena to reddit to try to gain darkspilver's identity due to accusations of copyright infringement:.
tl;dr: on april 9, watch tower filed a response to the eff's motion to quash (filed march 26) regarding the subpoena submitted to reddit in an attempt to find /u/darkspilver's identity.. the wt response is publicly available here as a pdf, from the site court listener.. a number of other documents relating to the case are available on the same site, here.. and the eff's motion to quash is available on the eff's website here.. details: as i'm sure many of us know, watch tower (yes, two words in this case) has issued a subpoena to reddit to try to gain /u/darkspilver's identity due to accusations of copyright infringement.
specifically, watch tower is claiming copyright infringement for two things: first, darkspilver posted the back page of the november 2018 watchtower which was an article entitled "what gift can we give to jehovah?” which explained how to donate.

WT is less interested in defending it's copyright, and focused on divulging the identities of those who are still embedded within the organization, but mentally out, sharing documents and information, not readily available to the R&F members, or the public. They stand to gain nothing monetarily by going after these individuals, and will undoubtedly lose money if they legally pursue them. So the DMCA subpoenas are really nothing more than a means to an end; exposing, expelling, and plugging the holes.
And here I thought brothers taking people to court wasn't christian. What happened to remaining neutral, no part of the world, trusting in Jehovah, and his timeline, to defend his people? Pursuing and exposing these people through worldly courts is a good witness and reflects favorably on the organization and Jehovah?

I found the last part of the above link to be of particular note;
"If such lawsuits are pursued without a spirit of contention, they may not violate the spirit of Paul’s inspired counsel.* Nonetheless, a Christian’s priority should be the sanctification of Jehovah’s name and the peace and unity of the congregation. Christ’s followers are marked first and foremost by their love, and “love . . . does not look for its own interests.”—1 Corinthians 13:4, 5; John 13:34, 35."

Why do some JWs love seeing others get disfellowshipped?
by Tameria2001 ini'm not sure how many in the organization is like this, but there some jws who love seeing others get disfellowshipped, and my father-in-law is one of those.
he became a jw because he loved the idea of being the head of the household, and lording it over his family.
as a jw he is very hypocritical, my husband would tell stories of how they would celebrate christmas until his mother-in-law called him on it.

Rappin' for Jesus

"... i know - we'll do a religious rap !".

Jeff Davis, Rap may not be something you care for, but there is a great deal of really well done, well put together, meaningful, rap out there, that takes an exceptional amount of talent to create and perform.
But this? This is definitely a train wreck. Laughably, cringeworthy.

How do you talk about your adult children, who is getting ready to royally screw up things
by Tameria2001 ini have two sons, both in their 20's.
the youngest son has it all figured out, and he is doing great, but my older son (2 years older than his brother) well that is a totally different story.. my eldest has always wanted to do things the hard way, and he has always been this way.
my husband and i done our best to guide them when they were younger, but we ultimately let them make their own decision in the matter, whatever ever it might have been.

My advice, as a guy who has traveled down a similar path, it sounds like your son is headed, sit him down and have an intervention. Do it, only once, be blunt, honest, and harsh about what he's doing and the repercussions. He should know you care enough about him that you'll drop everything and give him some tough advice. Ultimately, its his choice to take the advice, and if he chooses to keep acting in the same fashion, then it's all on him. You did what you could. What do you all have to lose? His family is headed for certain break up of he does not change his ways. Perhaps a serious talking to by his parents is what he needs. If it fails, you tried. As I said, do this only once, and once finished, dont bring it up again, and nag at him about it. As much as you can see the error in his ways, it's his life and his consequences. Some people have to learn the hard way. You cant live his life for him. When he looks back at his life, later on, he will see you tried. I hope it all works out for you all.

So far the only thing is a letter a GB helper sent in response, basically brushing it off with "unknown" scenarios, and to give Top Shelf Tight Pants, the benefit of the doubt. I suspect they'll not say another word about it and just let it blow over. But I bet we never see Ol Tony in a public setting like that again

I think I made up my mind
by paradiseseeker ina month ago i travelled alone to italy for three days and i had the opportunity to visit the beautiful florence and re-visit many parts of rome.. but most importantly, i had the opportunity to stay alone and think about my situation and to make up my mind.. i've had very clear for almost 5 years that i will eventually leave the religion, but i couldn't decide when.. but now i know : i will leave on april 20th, the day after the memorial.. that day i will talk to my parents (this is by far the hardest thing to do) and soon afterwards i will talk to my closest friends, then i will send my disassociation letter.
i know that i will let them down, i will hurt them, most probably some of them will cry... but i need to live coherently for the first time in my life.
i'm sure that living in this contradiction is affecting and will affect my mental health and it's time for me to help myself instead of others.

Your life is yours to live. Backing out won't discredit you. It would be understandable. You are going against everything you've ever known. Like jumping out of an airplane for the first time. A great many people back out, many times over, for understandable reasons. You've got to do it when you're ready. Sounds like you've been contemplating this for quite some time, and given it a lot of thought. So you should. But it sounds like you've made the right decision for you. How you execute that decision, and how quickly you do it, is also up to you. It's not a race. For some, quick and clean, like tearing off a bandaid. For others a slow and steady fade is best. Do what is best for you (though once you start the process, by divulging your intention to leave, and your apostasy, you are committed and you need to have the resolve to see it through, immediately. Like parachuting, once you've jumped, you cant change your mind and crawl back in the plane!) But if you back down, and it takes a few times to build up the courage and finally go through with it, then that's ok..no one here is gonna judge you for that. I will say that the faster you start living your life, the happier you'll be, and the easier it will be. Good luck and let us know how it goes!
